Sensational jazz chart entry in Germany for the brandnew Tingvall Trio album "Vägen". The new entry at No.1 is the first top position of the trio , just in time for their start of a series of concerts across Europe until december. Big thanks to all the fans and supporters of the trio.

Tingvall Trio charted at No.91 in German Top 100 album charts |

As just very few jazz acts before them the Tingvall Trio entered the German Top 100 album charts at No.91 .
Thanks you to all supporters in media and especially all fans who were responsible for bringing the trio into the Pop Charts . Respect also to the team behind TT: the distributors Soulfood and Kontor New Media, the promotion team of Q-rious, booking agent O-tone Music, Patrick Hespeler, who was responsible for the visionary artwork, the photographers Jenny Kornmacher and Steven Haberland , Funkbüro, responsible for the worldwide web performance, Soul Kitchen for the videos and Initiative Musik, who supports the the project of "Vägen" in 2011.
Congratulations to Tingvall Trio, boys , you recorded an incredible album !!!
Right after festival appearances in Italy and an African tour for Goethe Institute, the trio will embark on a long German/Swiss/Austrian tour until spring 2012.

Paula Morelenbaum/Joao Donato album Agua enters European World Music Charts |

Our congratulations go to Paula Morelenbauma and Joao Donato for entering the European World Music Charts shortly after the release of their album "Agua" at no.8. Paula Morelenbaum will visit Germany soon, performing on July 30th at the Palatia Jazz Festival / Schifferstadt and in Nuremberg the following day at the "Bardentreffen" . Right after that she will continuing her tour with two concerts in Italy.

Good news for all Tingvall Trio fans . The new album "Vägen" was just completed at ARTE SUONO in Italy and will be released on july 29th. With their performance at their hometown festival "Elbjazzfestival" they will start a series of concerts performing new material and some classics. (see under tour dates) .

Big honour for "Bossarenova" in Brazil |

Big honour for the Paula Morelenbaum / SWR Bigband album "Bossarenova" . For the first time ever an album produced in Germany was nominated for the "Premio De Musica" in Brazil, comparable to the Grammy in the USA or ECHO in Germany. Congratulations to arranger Ralf Schmid and the artists.

ECHO Jazz 2011 for Omar Sosa & NDR Bigband |

Fabulous news for the spectacular Bigband project "Ceremony" of Omar Sosa & NDR Bigband. The jury honoured the production as "Best Bigband album of the Year".
Congratulations to the pianist Omar Sosa, his arranger Jacques Morelenbaum, the outstanding NDR Bigband and their NDR producers Axel Duerr and Stefan Gerdes for this prestigious award.

Just in time for the release of their new album "Y Ahora Que Hacemos" in march the Spanish Latin Rock Superstars of Jarabe De Palo and their charismatic boss Pau Dones will tour Germany extensively. In May shows will take place in Karlsruhe, Cologne, Munich, Berlin, Freiburg, Darmstadt, Bremen and Hamburg . (see tourdates for details )

Tingvall Trio toured South Africa |

At the end of February the Tingvall Trio travelled to Africa for the first time, High Fidelity Productions invited them for three shows to South Africa. The performances in big theatres in Cape Town, Jo'burg and Pretoria always ended with standing ovations for the band and were always a triumph. Meeting local artists after the concerts led to memorable impressions for the trio.

Welcome in 2011 |

Interesting artists with exciting new projects are on the agenda for 2011.
To start with we are happy to announce a collaboration with Andy P. , currently better known as guitarist of Nils Landgren's Funk Unit. The album "Music & Movement" (SKP 9101) with his funkin' band Jideblaskos was already voted "one of the ten best albums of 2010" by the Swedish magazine Hifi & Music. First concerts will be by presented by O-tone Music im March already.
In March Cuban pianist Omar Sosa will celebrate a quite meditation with the solo-recording "Calma" (SKP 9102) and he will surely perform some of his rare solo concerts to promote the new album.
Other new releases in the first half 2011include a brandnew album by the Spanish latin rock band Jarabe De Palo and a collaboration of Paula Morelenbaum and Joao Donato called "Agua" . Right after the summer break the new darlings of jazz piano trio , the Tingvall Trio, will present their new and fourth album followed by a long world tour until 2012 .

Tony Lakatos & Frankfurt Radio Bigband receive prestigious Hungarian Gramophone Award |

Congratulations to Tony Lakatos & the Frankfurt Radio Bigband for winning the highly acclaimed Hungarian Gramophone Award 2010 for "Best International Jazz Production Of The Year" with their double cd "Porgy & Bess". 2011 more concerts with this programme are scheduled.

100 CDs complete |

Two releases finalize the first 100 cds of SKIP RECORDS. A very poetic duo album, Retro (SKP 9097), presented by Berlin based vibraphonist David Friedman and saxofonist Peter Weniger offers breathtaking improvisations . In November they will, among other dates, perform the album at the Berlin Jazzfest and the Birdland Hamburg.
Drummer Wolfgang Haffner was responsible for the very first album of the label. Now his SKIP story "Along The Way" (SKP 9099) brings the first 100 releases to an end. ECHO Jazz award winner Haffner will also tour Germany extensively in November.

Paula Morelenbaum enters European World Music Charts |

We are happy to announce, that our second world music release of the fall season, Paula Morelenbaum / Telecoteco followed Simphiwe Dana into the European World Music Charts in October charting at No.16. On top of that she also chated at No.30 in the German Jazz Charts ! From October 18 on the Brazilian singer will be on tour across Europe with shows in Porto, Lisbon, Nuremburg, Zurich, Vienna, Dortmund,Zagreb, Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin.
We are also pleased to report that the album Telecoteco was presented as Pop Album Of The Month October in music magazine STEREO .

Simphiwe Dana has reached the highest chartposition ever in the German World Music Charts, in September the charismatic singer entered the charts at No.1 . Bossa Nova 2010 |

SKIP Records and Paula Morelenbaum will collaborate on various projects with a midterm perspective. Who can sing the Bossa Nova better than a singer that started her carreer in the band of A.C.Jobim and received for her own projects Latin Grammy nominations since then. Fans of Brazilian music remember "Casa" , her collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Jacques Morelenbaum , well. Both also contributed music to the new album "Telecoteco" , to be released on August 27th. Other guests include Joao Donato and Marcos Valle . "Telecoteco" will be presented live across Europe in October.
At the same time her 2009 SKIP collaboration with the SWR Bigband "Bossarenova" has been successfully released in Brazil and North America. More fine projects of Paula Morelenbaum on SKIP are already in the pipeline.
