Karin Hammar |
 |
| |
Stockholm based trombonist Karin Hammar had already notched up a long list of music references . Alongside tours and CD releases with jazz stars like Kenny Werner, Tim Hagans, Steve Swallow, Gary Burton or Maria Schneider it was first and foremost Nils Landgren, her kinsman on both instrument and native country who nudged her into the spotlight for example as member of the Jazz Baltica Orchestra or the EBU Bigband. In addition to that in Japan her recordings as Sliding Hammers with her sister Mimi, who also plays trombone, were highly acclaimed. "Everyday Magic" is not only her first own quartet recording but at the same time her SKIP debut.
